PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION leafpaw is clearly built sturdy for the mountainous terrain of his homeland, with big paws and a strong build. he appears to be a little underweight, though this is hard to discern through his thick fur. he overheats a lot because of this, and often complains about being nauseous from the heat of lower altitudes. his fur is mottled with a number of different browns, mimicking the leaf litter he was named after, and his eyes are a cold, almost grey colour.
IMPAIRMENTS/DISABILITIES somewhat anaemic, and has a few chronic pain issues, but is otherwise pretty healthy
creative + supportive + curious
morbid + eccentric + absentminded
melancholic + stubborn + vindictive
WRITTEN DESCRIPTION COMING SOON
HISTORY leafpaw was born in the mountains with his younger brother, ant. back then he went by the name termite, but he never felt like he fit this name very much. he didn't look anything like a termite, or at least he thought he didn't, based off how his parents described the beasts. There weren't many insects around the frozen peaks of the mountain, so termite mostly had to use his imagination, but he hoped that one day he would be able to see those things that his parents called... bugs.
one day ant fell deathly ill, and termite's parents were afraid that he would soon follow. they doubted that their youngest would survive but wanted to save their eldest, so they banished him from their home and sent him down the mountain towards the other cats. at the time termite was still young, he was confused and hurt that his family would send him away alone, but as time went on he grew to accept that it was their best option. They both had to stay behind to care for ant, and they knew that termite knew the terrain well enough to make it down unscathed. still, loneliness bit like cold teeth to the heart, and termite wasn't too sure where to go or what to do. he wandered aimlessly for a while, mostly in circles, discovering all sorts of things about this new green world. he learned about bugs, although he didn't know which of the lot were his namesake, and all sorts of other strange critters. he even came across other cats, although they weren't too happy about him enroaching on their territory.
majority of the cats he came across, small rogue groups for the most part, were pretty hostile towards young termite. he got thrown around a bit by the older cats, and learned to fear the unfamiliar. he longed for home a lot of the time, but his parents had wanted a nicer, less isolated life for him. one where he could get help if something awful happened to him like it had happened to ant. he couldn't turn back now without making a proper life for himself first. it was a while before he stumbled across the borders of brena. fear had been drilled into him at that point, so when he was asked his name and business, all he could do was stare blankly at the world around him, as if he were lost in thought or simply avoiding eye contact. the guards assumed he was some traumatized child (and that wasn't too far from the mark), but termite eventually managed to mutter a meek answer about wanting to find a home. he still refused to answer questions about his name though, instead biting the inside of his cheek and looking away, so he was dubbed leafpaw and thrown into the turbulent life of the clans. it took a while of bouncing around before he finally settled into nara, immediately attaching to a fellow apprentice with a similar origin and personality (even if they seemed quite different at first glance).
he had some issues with finding his place, but it looks like the newly dubbed leafpaw is finally beginning to settle in.
more to come.
